There were many more pieces for Gerry than that one. Barry Dickins wrote beautifully of his time working wih Gerry, and Glenn Baker did a piece, as well as all the straight news reports.
I remember Gerry Humphrys & The Loved Ones from the 60's with great fondness. He was a charismatic sort of character and I always watched intently when he appeared on TV (The GO show and the like). I was about 13 or 14 at the time but I still play "Everlovin' Man" and "The Loved One" - It's timeless music and a testament to a great Melbourne band of the time. I remember Gerry's sideways stance and how he clapped with hands held high & to one side at the intro to "The Loved One". Your never really gone as long as someone remembers you.
another December, five years on, we remember Gerry. especially those of us who witnessed his cooking segment on that early morning Saturday pop show. It must have pre-dated EVERY TV cooking segment this side of Delia Smith. A truly ground-breaking artiste. Bless.
